Gil D’Harcour
Gil D’Harcour is a 50 years old French national who is a member of Foodservice Consultant Society International, www.fcsi.org and the co-founder of the only F&B online platform in Indonesia www.restobazaar.id
Gil imagines, designs and manages multiple outlets for the last twenty years, from cafes, fine dining to hotel outlets. Started his career in F&B department in Accor Group in Thailand with Novotel as Assistant F&B manager and ended up years later as a General Manager in 1994 for an upscale entertainment outlet in Jakarta. Since 1994, Gil has created more than 30 different foodservice concepts in Indonesia, and has advised prominent businessmen in Indonesia in developing foodservice.
Working with architects, contractors, kitchen suppliers, graphic designers, the role of a foodservice consultant and designer is to ensure that all actors harmonize their efforts towards the same direction before plugging in the right people with the right training. It takes passion and technical skills to come up with the right concept and ensure that a new operation is maintained for years and bring the expected returns. Foodservice is a profession and in a competitive environment, restaurant is a high risk investment with a high rate of failure around the world.
Specialized in turn-key operations, Gil understands investors’ expectations and dreams and will create hand crafted concepts which are unique and that must be viable. In his portfolio, Gil has opened and run successful venues in Jakarta with many of them being awarded, such as ‘Brasserie’ as the best French restaurant in Jakarta in 2002 or ‘The Nine Muses Club’ as one of the recipient in the best entertainment outlet in South East Asia in the ‘Hospitality Awards’ ceremony. Design books and magazines have featured many of his concepts.
Gil D’Harcour is a French National, Grew up in Monte Carlo before studying Accounting in Nice, Arts in EcoleNationale Beaux Arts of Versailles and Hotel Management in International Maxim’s Institute of Paris.
